Sok blogon olvastam már, hogy általában anyukák, nagymamák adták a kezünkbe a tűt és cérnát, és legtöbbünk így kezdett el kézimunkázni. Nálam is így történt ez, aztán évekig nem is foglalkoztam sem hímzéssel, varrással, mígcsak egyszer hobbi után akartam nézni, és visszatértem ehhez.

Azóta pedig valódi szenvedély lett belőle, igyekszem újabb dolgokat megtanulni, felfedezni. Rengeteg forrást találtam az interneten, ahonnan inspirálodni lehet, blogok és weboldalak, ahonnan sokat tanulhat az ember. Egy ilyen oldal a Henry Art Gallery, amit ajánlok figyelmetekbe. 

I read it already on lot of blogs and sources, that most of us learned to embroider from their mothers and grandmothers, usually they forced us to take needle and thread in our hands and start with needlework. It was the same for me, even if I didn't embroidered for a couple of years, one time as I searched for a new hobby, I rediscovered needlework again. 

Since then it turned out to be a real passion for me. I'm trying to learn new things. There is a lot of stuff on the internet, where we can search for inspiration, blogs and websites, where you can find a source of reference. Henry Art Gallery's Stitch Identification Guide is such a website. 

Henry Art Gallery Stitch Guide

Az oldalon rengeteg képleírásos útmutató található különböző kategórákba szedve. Az oldal szerint Jacqueline Enthoven és Virginia Harvey még 1977-ben kezdték el a Henry Art Gallery textilgyűjteményének feldolgozását, a különböző öltések rendszerbe szedését. Az ő munkásságukat folytatva rendszerezték és tették online is elérhetővé ezeket a leírásokat. 

Nekem sok segíséget ad, a képleírások rendkívül hasznosak ha egy új öltést szeretnénk megtanulni, de nincs pontos leírásunk. Remélem hasznát veszitek ti is.

On this website one can find a lot of guidance, pictured steps collected in different categories. According to the site Jacqueline Enthoven and Virginia Harvey created the Stitch Identification Group in 1977. They aim was to identify all embroidery stitches in the Henry Art Gallery's costume and textile collection and define those stitches. Based on their work was this stitch guide prepared and diagrams, descriptions made available online. 

I found it very helpful, the diagrams helped me to understand each step when learning a new technique. Hopefully you will find it helpful as well. Enjoy!
